MAP.

What if every neighborhood held an invention we’ve never been taught to name?

Only four sites in the National Register of Historic Places are listed for Black invention.

Just four — out of over 97,000.

This map exists to change that.

We are mapping a living, radiant archive of Afrotech — the rituals, devices, spaces, and spirit of Black ingenuity across time and terrain. From chemical labs in St. Louis to salon storefronts in Indiana, these sites reveal a geography of genius too often left unmapped.

This is not just about preservation. This is about animation.

Stay tuned as we build a new atlas — one filled with porch studios, patent drawers, sonic corners, and stories that never made it into stone.
